Who is JT Bids
A bid writer who knows how public sector work is actually won.
JT Bids is a registered Scottish bid writing practice built on a genuinely rare combination: forty years split evenly between commissioning public contracts and delivering them. Founder John Taylor spent 22 years in local authority procurement, rising to Principal Officer level and managing a team of over 100 staff, before moving into contractor-side delivery - directing tender submissions for a reactive maintenance company, then taking social housing and private-build developments from pre-planning through to completion with Realm Homes.
John holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Housing Studies and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIHCM). That dual perspective - knowing exactly what an evaluator is scoring for, and exactly what it takes to deliver the contract afterwards - is what sits behind every bid JT Bids writes.
Public tendering is detailed, deadline-driven and unforgiving of mistakes. Method statements, quality questions, social value, compliance schedules - each one is scored, and small businesses rarely have time to do them justice. That’s the gap JT Bids fills: clear, credible, properly evidenced responses, and a straightforward, easy-to-deal-with process from first enquiry to submission.
